As a partner of the Monon South Trail, the City of New Albany is constructing the Monon South Freedom Trail. In the future, we hope to be able to connect these two trails to create the longest, continuous, recreational trail in Indiana.

As the first step in their construction progress, the Monon South Freedom Trail broke ground in August. This groundbreaking marks the beginning of construction on the 1.63 mile segment of the trail running from the Ohio River Greenway up to Fairview Cemetery.
